Frequently asked questions.

At New Way Cleaners, we specialize in premium dry cleaning, alterations, and tailoring with a focus on quality, detail, and convenience. Find answers to our most common questions below.

Q: What items can you dry clean?
We clean suits, dresses, coats, sweaters, uniforms, formal wear, delicates, and everyday clothing. We do not dry clean household items like curtains, blankets, and comforters.

Q: How long does dry cleaning take?
Standard turnaround is typically 24–48 hours. Rush or same-day service may be available on select items.

Q: Do you offer eco-friendly or organic cleaning?
Yes. We use gentle, non-toxic cleaning solutions that are safer for your clothes and your skin compared to traditional harsh chemicals.

Q: What’s the difference between dry cleaning and regular washing?
Dry cleaning uses a special cleaning solution instead of water. It removes oils and stains while helping prevent shrinking, fading, and fabric damage, especially on delicate items.

Q: Can you remove all stains?
We pre-treat each stain based on the fabric and type of stain. While we remove most stains, older or set-in stains may not come out completely. We never use a method that risks damaging your garment.

Q: Is dry cleaning safe for delicate fabrics?
Yes. Dry cleaning is often recommended for silk, wool, cashmere, linen, and embellished or structured garments.

Q: What tailoring services do you offer?
We provide hemming, taking in and letting out, tapering, sleeve adjustments, zipper replacement, button and hook repair, patching, and restyling. We also work on formal wear and specialty pieces.

Q: Do you alter suits, dresses, and formal wear?
Absolutely. We tailor business suits, evening gowns, prom dresses, and bridal/formal wear to ensure a perfect fit.

Q: Can you tailor leather or specialty fabrics?
Yes. We work with leather, suede, and other specialty materials, including repairs, resizing, and zipper or lining replacement.

Q: How long do alterations take?
Basic alterations (like simple hems) can often be completed in a few days. More detailed work, such as suits or gowns, usually takes 3–7 days, depending on complexity.

Q: Do you offer fittings on site?
Yes. We provide in-person fittings so our tailor can pin and mark your garment to your exact measurements and preferences.

Q: What should I bring to my fitting?
Please bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear with the outfit. This ensures accurate hemming and a proper fit.
